I just want to know if the Blackguard sneak-attack stacks with the Thief sneak attack?
Is that so? Im trying a Thief/Blackguard/Shadowdancer soon, so I'd like to know...wow a rhyme

They do stack, however, they are not the same sneak attack. The consequence is that although for damage purposes it doesn't matter, a thief 6D6 sneak attack plus a blackguard 2D6 sneak attack don't make an 8D6 sneak attack, and therefore it wouldn't be enough to meet the requirements for the epic Improved Sneak Attack feat, for example.

So your thinking about my suggestion eh?
Remember to take 13 levels as a Rogue - this will not only get you the the next increase in sneak attack but also another Rogue specialized feat (the first one should be Improved Evasion if you don't plan on having 10 levels of SD, the second one should probably be Crippling Strike - to go along with the Blackguard theme). http://www.gamebanshee.com/neverwint...lingstrike.php Additionally you should take that 13th Rogue level around character level 20+ (with some saved-up skill points) so you can increase your points in Hide, Move Silently, Tumble, and Use Magic Device (and perhaps other skills like Open Lock and Disarm Trap..) withOUT skill point pentalties or block-outs. If your going for the Epic Self Concealments you'll need to be VERY carefull on how you do your leveling with attribute increases. And pretty much the ONLY race to use is the Elf - so you can start off with an extraordinary dexterity. ie. Note the prequisites of the Epic feats (and that the dexterity, Hide skill, and Tumble skill is a BASE number (i.e. what you see when you level-up), not a modified number.) http://www.gamebanshee.com/neverwint...ealmenti-v.php I'd personally start off the classes like this: 8 levels as a Rogue, 1 level as an SD, 2 levels as a Rogue (and choose Improved Evasion as your 1st specialized Rogue feat), 15 levels as a Blackguard (with an epic summon selected here), 1 level as a Theif (which gives you the timing for the 30 points in Hide and Tumble required for the Self Concelment Feats + your selection of Crippling Strike). Note if your running your character up-to 40th then you can continue with any of the 3 classes. Whatever you do plan it out very carefully before you play it with an epic leveler mod.. like Chewies here: http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/cg...;f=26;t=000244 |
