anyone around who likes reading Stephen King ? I read all his books (except the last ones, but that's just a matter of time). I simply love those creepy stories. Btw, Dean Koontz is also one of my favorites.

his best book imo was it, so i would start with that one. If you saw the movie it's still good enough to read because they left a lot out of it. Have fun. ( other good options are desperation and insomnia, especially desperation is pretty scary )

A friend was telling me his book Firestarter (I forget the name) was pretty good. I think it's cool that he thinks up a lot of his stories in his dreams. (And kinda creepy too!)

I love King - one of my favourite horror writers.

I would reccommend:

It
The Stand (uncut edition if you can get it)
Christine (because I have a thing for vintage Plymouths LOL)
Firestarter
The Dead Zone

These are my personal favourites, I would advise to avoid the later books to start with, IMO they're not as good as the older ones.

Other horror writers I like and would reccommend:
Stephen Laws, Christopher Fowler, James Herbert (some of his stuff is crap, but I like Magic Cottage, Moon, Portend, Haunted)

That's the one! The original release was only about 2/3 of the whole thing due to publishing expenses. It really is worth getting the uncut edition - the plot is still the same, but the extra material fills in a lot of background and makes the story that much richer.
