Compared to what Attalus? My justification for portability stuff, is "How important is my time to me" If I have free time somewhere not home, and want to continue my game or dredge up information, the convenience and time saving makes the price worth it to me.....

Its sort of like the parking lot thing....I see people circling and circling looking for a close parking space, when I just pull in to the first open slot I find and am in the store before those putz's are parked...my time is too valuable to waste just circling around.

Yeah, lol, I always wonder at people ( no names, please ) who run 50 miles a week and then complain about parking far away from the mall.

It was about $150 for a pretty good one w/ 40GB and USB2/firewire. It is slow to copy to the drive, but once there the games run the same as far as I can tell. Since 40GB is 2X the 20GB on my laptop, it was necessary.

Besides, my CPU was a first-generation WinXP machine - and the reformat disks won't allow me to adjust the 8GB Fat32 (C drive) / 12 GB NTFS (D drive) drive partitioning. So, I was running out of space on C: drive, looking at moving the 4+ GB BGII to the D: drive anyway (making it nearly full), and I simply resolved everything by putting it all on the USB drive. S'nice. Only problem is travelling - the games don't go with me anymore. Oh well, travelling is probably better w/out them anyway.

Oh, and if you plug/unplug from you peripherals a lot (like I do with a laptop), your machine has to "search" the drive again when you plug it back in. But, that takes only like 10 sec. anyway.

Me and my wife rarely disagree - but this is one of the #1 sources of disagreement. I'm a park-and-walker, BTW.

Never understood circling myself. That´s why I married in the first place. To have someone drop me off and pick me up before/after shopping sprees. LOL! BTW, hi MagiK.

Hi Attalus. Is your hdd getting crowded? I´ll send some south if you need some. Of course the hubby would have hissy-fits if he found out I would have removed some of his "precious" back-up storage. Well as long as he keeps it in his office it is OK. It is when he starts to drop things off in the bedroom I start to complain.

Hi Timber. Enjoying your new work?

Hi Cloudy. I hope it is not too hectic at your office. If it is, delegate some work to your co-worker. I´m sure she wouldn´t mind. And if she do mind, blame it all on me. LOL!

'Allo everyone. My Middle School's formal dance is tomarrow! And I'm happy! Paige(Girl I like) said that she had a surprise for me at the dance and I am eagerly waiting to find out what it is. No one try and give me any ideas. I don't wanna get my hopes up for anything. So how is everyone today?

Well, Willow, not exactly. I have 37.2 GBytes total and 15.5 GB used. I cleared some worthlesss games out of it the other day, games I never play, like Morrowind and Divine Divinity. Freed up a lot. Ha, betcha thought I was going to say Wizards and Warriors, but I have never owned it; I think I saw it once, at Wal-Mart.
BTW, I replayed all 3 of the Dream cutscenes from the Imoen Romance and I am really awestruck at the skill and storytelling ability behind this. Whoever wrote and programmed this should be working at Bioware.

Hi all. Just posting for sympathy.

I've had breakfast, lunch, and now dinner at my desk. I'd leave but I just can't get these damned manacles loose. Where Jan Jansen when you need him.

I'm rushing to get home to see West Wing, but it's looking worse and worse.

P.S. - Preemptive strike: I know you guys call it Left Wing, Attalus and MagiK, but it's still darned good dialogue scripting.
