Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin ?

Why does the sun lighten our hair, but darken our skin ?

Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle ?

Why don't you ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery" ?

Why is "abbreviated" such a long word ?

Why is a boxing ring square ?

Why is it called lipstick if you can still move your lips ?

Why is it that doctors call what they do "practice" ?

Why is it that rain drops but snow falls ?

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons ?

Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker ?

Why is the third hand on the watch called second hand ?

Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour ?

Why is the word dictionary in the dictionary ?

Why isn't there a special name for the tops of your feet ?

Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food ?

Why do you need a driver's license to buy liquor when you can't drink and drive ?

ayt, ill answer them as logical as possible, but its so funny i think my answers arent of any good, but ill try!

Why is it considered necessary to nail down the lid of a coffin ?
well, it can open, and of course, you wouldnt want stinkin dead people ruining your day.

Why does the sun lighten our hair, but darken our skin ?
well our hair contains this, and the sun kills these and with the skin same thing but different process...

Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle ?
i havent tried that out yet

Why don't you ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery" ?
thats coz psychics arent psychics... they are a hoax... hehehe or they dont say they are psychic... how can it be psychic anyway? bah! next!

Why is "abbreviated" such a long word ?
to make you use short words more often, encouraging it

Why is a boxing ring square ?
if it were a "ring", it would be a disaster, think about it

Why is it called lipstick if you can still move your lips ?
ahh... it sticks to your lips, not stick them together teehee

Why is it that doctors call what they do "practice" ?
practice makes perfect

Why is it that rain drops but snow falls ?
you dont say, "look! that guy is dropping off the building!!!"

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons ?
to make more dishwashing liquids

Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker ?
they make other people broke. teehee

Why is the third hand on the watch called second hand ?
well, you wouldnt want to count on well...

Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour ?
lotsa people=slow traffic

Why is the word dictionary in the dictionary ?
now thats a bugger

Why isn't there a special name for the tops of your feet ?
i dont get it...

Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food ?
well that would be nice...

Why do you need a driver's license to buy liquor when you can't drink and drive?
that is complete total irony

geez, these are lovely, and i like answering them! you know these, but heehee its too good not to be answered!!!

BTW, on the "glue" question: most glue is activated by the presence of air, which makes it dry. It's also why it's increasingly harder and harder to get glue out of a bottle after you start using it up. Almost all adhesives work this way, including Epoxy (which is actually a blend of two different substances to get the adhesion to work).

True True.
I found a container of Carpenter's wood glue in the shed this spring that had been there for who knows how many years. Although it had not stuck to the inside of the bottle (these questions weren't mine originally but were meant to be jokes) the glue itself had the consistency of a non-sticky dough. Wondering now if I should have cut the bottle open and made a temporary "superball".
