Yeah, Grimgnaw is cool. How can he heal himself? You mean by the potions? I think he is the best henchman, but I'm sorry to say he is one fry short of a happy meal. If he sees an enemy, he will do anything to get to it and kill it, including:

Knocking down a gate or dor that can never open, or if opened will unleash powerful enemies into a safe spot where you are.

Leave you to fight the boss by yourself, while he tries to get to a few weaklings like Rabid Skunks inside an inpenetrable cage.

Trip powerful traps that you are in the middle of disarming.

Kill himself, leaving the bad guys to you.

But all in all, most of the time he is great. He bashes chests like it was his life. He does great damage. He is okay.

Linu is a must have! She has a bunch of healing and buffs spell (as a cleric should always have), a few powerful attack spell but most of all, she can turn undeads! She often saved me long fight against 10-15 zombies in a single cast. There's only one little problem about her AI... as soon as there's an undead near her, she'll waste all her 'turn undead' "spells", even if she can't turn 'em. Sad

I'm using Daelan Red Tiger. He's a big help in fights and can bash most chests and doors.

I used to have Tomi in the beginning untill I figured out that my familiar is just as good or better at picking locks or disabling traps.
Then I switched to Sharwyn, but I quickly replaced her with Daelan RedTiger, because he was better at blocking of enemies, while I cast my spells. As soon as I saw Linu I decided to have her in my party instead, for her healing capacities and turning undead are worth more to me. Especially since my sorcerer is already level 17 going on 18. Lots of protection spells as well as stat increasing spells to make my character tougher in giving as well as taking punishment. And a Celestial Avenger or Dire Tiger as ally will give me tank power when I need it.

I thik she's very useful but fun as well. I liked the story she told when you recrute her again at the start of chapter three. Also when I left her at Tyr's temple after Luskan Host Tower and then picked her up again: She was very happy to join me again and while she had been waiting for me she broke hardly anything

Don't you think fireball is a bit overkill? A simple (empowered) magic missile will do the trick just as easy, as will acid arrow or even a coupl'a shots with a wand of missiles

Hmm, looks like Tomi is the favorite, though easily the most annoying.

Linu is cute
Sharwin stole my heart
Tomi is nausiating

Havn't tried RedTiger but if he is better than Grimknaw
then I'll eat my hat...
Grimknaw and my "Sanni Fistbrand" my 17 lvl monk so soundly smack down anything in our way its silly.. I hope end game gets a little difficult--every foe that sais "over powering is" dead in less than one round damn... I keep hoping to find something that can even damage us ^_^

I used to use Tomi. I ditched him last night when I checked out his character sheet- his remove traps is only 3 points better than my level 8 fighter... If I can't disarm it, he's not likely to either. I grabbed Red Tiger for complete power... we're one dimensional, but we can cut down about anything.
