Monks use Spirit magic.
Bards use Moon magic and use music to cast spells, too. I also think when I had a Bard in the group, she could learn Fiend spells, but I'm not 100% sure!

Monks use Spirit magic.

I had my chars going through paladin/monk OR monk/paladin to get the whole set of spirit.

Becoming monk is a pain though - you will see. To check if you have spent enough time "naked" go to the temple, there he will tell you that you are ready but must go to the BD. This allows you to wait till the next level up & not waste valuable exp (save/restore can off course do the same).
[My ratling ran around "naked" all the time while being bard .... could have become monk earlier (around level but wanted to get up to level 12 bard first .....]

The Bard's circle of magic is Moon but the Bard can buy Fiend, ie you can kick off Fiendcraft when being bard, that's what I did (but he/she can only learn it at half the level, so you must eg bring fiend up to level 6 (buy/skill points) to gain level 3 spells).
