Yes the first one is from Dune, specifically Chapterhouse Dune. Love those books and the 'sayings' that are at the start of each section or chapter.
And the amazing Catcher in the Rye!

Read that book when I was 17 and like so many others was totally blown away!
(Literally I was blown right away! Right out the door!)

The author was quoting from fictional sources and characters in the books.
Like the Bene Gesserit Coda, or the collected sayings of Muad'ib by the princess Irulan. So yes they are quotes, but of characters that Frank Herbert
was writing about.
The first one is from the Bene Gesserit Coda.
The second is also from the Bene Gesserit Coda.
The third is Bene Gesserit advice to the postulants.

They were in a large, bright cave who's walls were smooth and polished. Before tham stood a metallic box with a series of buttons at the front, and a pane of glass at the top.
GREETINGS the pane of glass printed.
**** and ****** dismounted. "And greetings to you, you rusty box," ****** said facetiously.
YOUR VOICE SOUNDS FAMILIAR, the screen printed, WHAT IS YOUR IDENTITY?

I've left out the names to try and make it harder, lol!
