Actually, that riddle has too many open variables, meaning Johnny can be any age from 1-9:
If he's 1, in 11 years he'll be 12, making his mother and father (at present) 18 and 30.
If he's 2, in 11 years he'll be 13, making his mother and father (at present) 19 and 33.
.
.
.
If he's 9, in 11 years he'll be 20, making his mother and father (at present) 26 and 54.

x=Johnny now, y=Father now
x + 11 = (x+17 + y) / 4
4x + 44 = x + 17 + y
3x + 27 = y

Note: Johnny is 10 soon meaning at the moment he is 9 (This seems to have caused some confusion)

Here's the answer:

Mother 26
Father 32

To SixofSpades here is an explaination to the riddle:

Right now Johnny is nine years old. That means that
he will be 20 years old 11 years from now. If that
is half the average age of his parents, at age 20
he will have reached one quarter the combined ages
of his mother and father. Therefore the combined
ages of both mother and father will be 80 years.
Since his mother was seventeen when Johnny was
born, she will be 37 when he is 20. Consequently
his father will be 43. Today his mother is 26 years
old and his father is 32.

Here's another riddle:

My son Jeff is 24 years younger than me and 35
years older than my grandson, Phillip. Together,
all of our ages add up to one hundred. How old
are we?
