Default Can't get Revenant to work....

I know this is a really old game, but I came across it the other day and wanted to try and play it again. So I inserted the first disc but got a message to the likes of "cannot write revenant.ini" -- I have a virtual PC installed on my hard drive, which converts my OS from Windows XP to Windows 98. I got the game installed, but when I go to play, I get a screen saying that the game is loading...... and it stays that way. It doesnt change, and I know because it let it do that for a little while, without any change. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

If this is the game you are referring to:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revenant_(video_game)
It should not cause too many problems, it is only a decade old.
Dosbox may work if Compatibility Mode does not, Dosbox is freeware found at Sourceforge.
Try switching off Compatibility mode then try various modes, see if anything works.

My copy of Revenant worked just fine on XP, though it ran a bit fast for some reason. And if you turned on their slow-down feature the dialogue would get choppy. But I think after I patched it, it was fixed. At anyrate, not sure what the issue could be and I'm stuck with Vista now so I can't test anything on my end and have results be comparable.
