~ Mistral probably needs more of my help now with two of them out of the way... ~ In a flash, Kaz has sent a fireball hurling to a distance of 75 feet away; it bursts into an inferno and extends towards the hooligans in front of Mistral ~ There is a smell of burning flesh, followed by howls and curses as 3 of the men further behind are caught in the ferocious flames. ~

~ Mistral lashes out with Brightblade, momentarily regretting that her other hand is empty ~ I'd have dealt more damage dual-wielding instead of wielding just one... ~ Nevertheless, she deals maximum damage to the opponent directly in front of her and he staggers backward, blood pouring from his stomach ~

Charging forward, the burnt rogues make a sprint and each manages to stab Mistral as their compatriot falls backward. Holding on to her blade desperately, she falters in her steps ~

As Larry was blocking the tremendous blow from the strong man, an arrow bites into his sword arm.
He screams out, dropping Nighblade.
The man, grins, and winds back up for the final blow, as Larry is clutching his arm. Suddenly, Nightblade hums to life, and takes up position in front of Larry. She begins to spin in a circle, gaining momentum, until she got so fast that she nearly dissapeared. The man, started stepping back, not understanding this sorcery at all. Just as he decided it would be interesting to attempt to throw a rock at her, Nightblade broke out of her spin and flew straight through the man. He looked down at his open wound, and began to cry.

Meanwhile, Kaz has begun conjuring magic missiles and she now directs them at one of the men; the five missiles pierce him, and he stumbles backward, crashing into his other ally. Both of them crash onto the ground, but rise again, determined to quench their thirst for blood.

The contingency spell is activated automatically as Mistral's hitpoints are reduced to half and a protective stoneskin covers her, making her safe from the next 7 physical attacks. ~ "Take that!" ~ she slashes viciously at the nearest ruffian, sensing her lifeforce gradually returning. ~

The last man runs forward, his dagger aiming for Kaz's heart. ~

~ With a cry, Mistral throws herself into the path of the dagger and it lands harmlessly on her. The man stands in shock, but realises the mistake as Kaz herself draws out her own dagger and makes a gash across his cheek ~

~ The remaining 3 men are now ominously approaching the two girls, with evil smirks on their faces.~

With no weapon for the moment, Larry jerks the arrow out of his arm...much to his surprise at how bad that hurt...and intercepted a man charging at Mistral, jamming the arrow into the man's side. He fell, but continued to live. He raises his sword up to strike at Larry, and Larry has just realized that the arrow must have been poisoned, becasue now he is seeing blurry visioned...

Nodding to Kaz, Mistral steps forward and punches one rogue with her fist, while dragging Brightblade fiercely across the stomach of another attacker. The former returns with a stab, which removes another stoneskin layer; the latter drops onto the ground dead ~

(ooc: Lunchtime now, Larry... I'll be back in an hour's time, but you can finish off for me if you like. Sweet dreams if you're going to bed soon )

~ This time, Kaz summons all the strength within herself and plunges her dagger into the scarred ruffian's left breast. With a cry, he crumples and collapses on the ground, lifeless. ~

~ As the remaining two attackers strike Mistral, she counts 3 more layers of stoneskins protecting herself. She launches an all-offensive attack, whirling Brightblade vehemently. Gritting her teeth, she shoves both the attackers back with her fist and Brightblade ~
