Milanthir, you would most likely see Oley, and aged human wearing elaborate, if slightly dingy and frayed robes going around to the smithy (the Temple is of course near to Vindson's shop as illustrated by Larry)

So...if I were interested in joining this game, how would I do so, and what should I know storyline-wise...should I read all of LoF: Lockesville?

current storyline is that there was a fire in the small town the game is starting in, Sever a self-proclaimed thief went in and saved a child from the flames. It was noticed shortly thereafter that the fire had been a cover for a jailbreak. The guards are currenly searching for the escapee, and his presumed magic-user ally.
The characters are Simon and Edward Locke (Run the town) Vindson, the local smith, a retired adventurer Oley, a retired adventurer who now spends his time drinking and accidentally blowing things up with his magic Kasimno, a resident of the town who is looking to become an adventurer Sever, hero of the fire Milanthir, elven travellor in these strange lands Pandaros, a human scout

Contact Larry, he should have the details for getting started, and I can answer any rules related questions (other than things that are GM-only knowledge)

I would love to invite you, Ilander! Just as Morgie said, that is pretty much all that the other players know. It has just started, and there have been mention of other strangers (non-residents) in town besides those that are currently playing. So to get you placed inside the town already is no problem at all. Currently, the doors to and from town are closed and guarded because of the fugitives on the loose. You will have to start inside the town.
Just go back in this OOC thread and find what is required for each player to sign on (stat stuff), and PM me when you are ready to be checked out. Morgie has been helping me a lot these days with the rules, since Cyril has been out sick for a couple weeks. I hear he's getting better, though so he'll be back with us soon. I usually run all rule-oriented stuff by at least one of those two guys before making big moves because I am a logistics man...I fly it, but they are the scientists that keep it in the air. Know whatta mean?

In doing a quick check on progress of the game, this is where I see everyone.
Vindson: Working in his shop. Oley: At Vindson’s place of work. Looking for somebody to tell about his discovery. Pandaros: Speaking with Oley Kasimno: Speaking to Oley. Sever and his guard: In the tavern, wondering about Oley. Milanthir: Heading towards the jail. Oley is being spoken to by two people at once who have initiated conversation but neither have received an answer yet, nor has it been posted that one is aware of the other in Oley's presence. Interesting situation, but I trust Morgie knows how to get himself out of the bind.

I am going to give a name to my guard that is helping Sever out. He is still to be considered a DM's NPC.
Karl Wheatman Male, 35yr. Town Guardsman Proficiency: Longsword I will also use Sam (another NPC guard) to work with Karl at this time. Sam Goldheart Male, 32yr. Town Guardsman Proficiency: Crossbow, Short-sword [ 02-08-2006, 04:09 PM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ]

I'll try to have a post up late tonight, things have been beyond busy here, my apologies to all waiting on Oley.

I was going to ask about a name for the guard escort. I keep running out of alternatives for guard and, er, escort.

MY apologies for the extended absence from the game. Between an increase in my responsibilities at work and a prolonged illness - nothing serious just lingering and draining - i had all I could manage just keeping my head above water in real life. I had time to help Larry with some behind the scenes stuff here but really nothing more than that. Now that I"ve just about gotten caught up with my posting over in SOL I can start reintegrating myself into this game.
Looks like there's been quite the amount of chaos while I was away
