Ahh, I see, so it's all about deriving the meaning from texts.
I guess you would do quite a bit on some of the ancient philosophers etc.

But the discipline itself is a bit broader than an exclusive focus upon written texts -- it would also include symbols and rituals for example. I personally divide my time between the study of ancient philosophical and religious texts and postmodern literary theory.

Ah, I was mainly thinking text, but actually I suppose that some esoteric rituals would be as much a cause of interest... I'd be intersted to hear someone's views on the rituals of neanderthal man... although we probably have less sources, I've been interested in them for some time.
