My third game on expert difficulty endet with bad luck in Trynton yesterday. I wanted to reach Nessie that weekend but ......
After I had no time to play for some days I started saturday to finish Trynton -but Trynton finished me. I nearly reached the zoo when I saw some widowmaker spiders. I know these guys, they nearly destroyed my party in an earlier game. So I decided to retreat back to the first house ( where those 2 giant spiders were ). The widowmakers moved in the same direction. When I just ran through the tree a second group of widowmakers came from the other side. Combat mode kicked in and because they were very fast they blocked my way to hide myself somewhere in a corner for a better combat. And there I stood : 2 groups with 3 widowmakers each. One in the front and one in the back. After the first combat round all members were webbed. You can imagine what happens next. That's it . W8 will rest for a while now because I got W&W and I starded my first party after I managed to remove my frustration about my third destruction. I am sure I'll return because I want to win on expert ( It must be possible ! ) but for the next months I'll play W&W & Civ3Conquest only. Well, maybe you should try with 4 characters next time.
X-ray would have warned you that there's something in your back. But your bishop surely had no level 4 mage spells. |

That's bad luck though...2 tough groups to run into.

Since I started games on expert I always had bad luck
1: Killed by Brekek (mostly swallowed) 2: Killed by Battering Hogar in Trynton ( he followed me to the first ladder in the tree) 3: Killed by 2 groups of widowmakers. 4 : I was nearly destrow by some oak elders ( could escape with 4 dead characters ) 2-4 happed in Trynton . If I restart W8 again after I finished W&W, I'll do not enter Trynton until my party has lvl 14 after the first T'Rang and Umpani quests |

Loudhy, Is W&W turn based or anything like the Baldurs gate engine? I just picked up UFO Aftermath which lets you pause and issue orders like Baldurs gate. I keep hearing about W&W as being a great game but I don't do the RTS thing.

In my experience, Trynton is no problem if you have a level 9 mage or bishop (elemental shield, x-ray, offensive power). With a group of hybrids, it is more dangerous. |
