soloing

i'm going to solo a character, but im not sure what class to use. any ideas?

While its possible to do any class I must reccomend the Monk first off, the game is a piece of piss for him at higher levels.

After this the Sorcerer my personal favorite.

Possibly a barbarian or a stalker would all so rule the day.

Well, you can always go for a multiclass (if you get rid of the xcap), as you'll level up pretty quickly. Kensai/thief and Kensai/mage are both pretty popular. I've heard sorcerors are good for this if you choose wisely. Archers are doable, although they take a different playing style. Monks are tough, although after a few level ups (particularly once you hit 14), they're incredible. I can tell you that when I was playing with my monk in a full party, towards the end of the game, I'd just ignore the rest of my party and send my monk in alone. Bards are kind of all around fellows, and would probably be pretty fun to play too.

Jabidas is right, I have done the whole game so far solo by myself with the monk and i'm currently lvl 14 without even goin to da graveyard yet

. The monk is great as a solo also cos u can sell the magical weapons and armour you get to make some nice cash...do u think i should hire some1 into my party once i reach XP cap?

There's an armour Monks can wear.

Keldorn's armour. How you get it though, is up to you.

The nice way, get Keldorn to party with you after you finish the Unseeing-eye quest, swipe his armour and proceed to the government district. Visit his family, see his wife's lover, go back to his wife and let Keldorn stay behind with his family.

The best soloer is a mage.IMO

Hordes of monsters-Summoned stuff
Traps- Stoneskin or spell deflection.
Help while soloing-Familiar(preferbly imp(shapeshifting into mustard for MR))

A dwarven fighter/cleric would work too. In my party, mine can just cruise through many creatures. His saving throws are virtually unbeatable. His "worst" is an awful -3, and his best is -9. He has a -10ac with a dex of 15. His thaco is also -6 even tough he is level 13/14. The only problem are traps but his saving throws tend to let him pass those with relative ease most of the time. Some of his equimpment includes: balduran platemail, setinel shield, crom faeyr, dwarven thrower, ring of gaxx, ring of human influence, and nymph cloak. Due to this, he has a charisma of 20. Woo HOO!!!

GO DWARVES GO!!!!!
