Yes, except that he is mostly unique, so it would be half-elf. There is not a lot of half-elf in Middle Earth.
Except for his sons and Arwen, (Although they would probably fourth Elves or whatever.) And Beren and lorien's children (the rolemodels of Arwen and Aragorn, just in case I got their names wrong.)

But still, I don't see what the difference is in Tolkien whether they're half elven or elven, because Elrond is at least 3000 years old, unless HalfElven is just a surname.

HAHA...not on your life, Gangrell! I'm guessing they go dark like the one's Melusine mentioned in her post, but still, I don't think I'd go to a place that has them!

Hmm, I couldn't use one of those either, guess I'm too self conscious about that kind of thing. Who would want to watch someone do their business on the toilet anyway

'Half-elves' are essentially a stand-alone species apart, not necessarily a 'mongrel' race of half-breeds. They are not elves, nor humans, but 100% half-elf, if you get me Anyway, Elrond and his brother (also a half-elf) were born from human and elven parents and given a choice by Iluvatar the overfather God to live as either elves or men. Elrond's brother chose to be human, and lived and died as such (although he lived an extended life of 600 years), Elrond chose to be an elf, and thus was given the traits and characteristics of the elven people. So, as always with these sorts of mythical tales, there's alot of magic involved

Also, did anyone else know that Aragorn/Strider lives for 500 years due to his Numenorean ancestry? I was quite surprised when I read that in the Tolkien guidebook (Goddam I'm a geek).
