Featherstone here
39yo 40 next month married Dad with 1 girl and another on the way!!! Hey Hey late nites no sleep and pooey nappies/diapers again, what where we thinking???

Project Manager by trade and have travelled the world and lived in most continents except South America at some stage in my life

Real enjoyment on RPG's comes with WWII games such as Commando series, but for the "true" RPG this W&W is the best I have come up against

Also I think this board is well used and thought out so thanks to the "owners and moderaters"

Based in Melbourne Victoria Australia and just happy to be alive.

Kind regards to y'all

Featherstone

Welcome to the boards, Featherstone. May your time in the Gael Serran be documented in history scrolls for ages to come.

And congrats on the impending new addition. The thought of late nights, no sleep, and all the other things that go with it have kept us from a third one. That, and my wife's promise that we could have another if I carried it...

Good gaming to you!

Friend of Gareth, thanks for the input on Morrowind!
Thought it would be one of the finest RPGs, as it is from the makers of Elder scrolls. So, which other games are as enjoyable as W&W ?
Anyone played Dark stone? if so hows the game?

I played it long time ago when I was young and stupid..
( I'm still stupid, but not so young... Well 21 years, I'm Young too! Damn! )
I liked it, but some how the computer played characters where so dumn!
Btw. Does it said IE, AI or IA or what? Oh I meaned that computer intellect?
There you controll two character, other is played by you and other follows...
And it doesn't allways do so great choices witch one to attack or who to move.

It doesn't matter in early game, but if you have example silver sword and there's skeleton and gnoll, computer makes character attack to gnoll!
Silver weapons makes more damage to skeleton (undead)! So it's quite stupid, but funny game... Think we have forum that is closed here, but archive still is...

P.s. example wasn't from Darkstone, but it works when you try to understand what computer does...

Thanks Oli kalima!
It seems to b a dumb game.
Well i started with a funny game myself It was Pagan Ultima-8
But it was my first game let alone RPG. You know i was abt 21 when i played it!!
And i finished the game with my bro and cousin together!!!
I thought it was good one!! But after playing Ultima underworld i changed my mind! UW is very good game and with such old grahics they managed a good one.
I only wish there is a sequel to Ultima Underworld(III).

I have played ultima saga too! One of my friend was really fan of that game.
It's just that Darkstone is quite old game and I didn't have patch for it.
So mayby they have done some changes in the game after I played it.
I played first version of Darkstone, but I liked that still.

Now there are so much better games, but then it was really good, like ultima.

yes Ultima is one of my favs my nick might be one example of that!
Unfortunately Origin and Looking glass does not exist today and there is no sequel to some game like underworld!
Still RPGs were dying breed, but if not for diablo-esque games that have changed the meaning of RPGs altogether abd even become popular.
The fast moving action games have made big impact that there are a very few games that have good puzzles! I miss those games that make me bang my head in frustation when i could not solve the puzzle or i have to start all over again.
There are no more traditional pen and paper RPGs that dont give pain to your wrists becos of frenzy clicking and double clicking!!
