Welcome to the boards, Friend of Gareth. May tales of your activities fill the taverns and halls throughout the Gael Serran.
Glad you enjoyed W&W, and I agree -- it is a very enjoyable game. And there's nothing like the feeling of figuring out a puzzle, either. Do feel free to come back and stay a while -- W&W is one of those games that can be replayed very easily, and very often, and all with different paths.

In reply to Ramesh ive recently played Morrowind, its an intresting Fantasy gameworld with lots of lore and history in it but not as exiting as W&W, its a big game that is very open ended, it relys on the players imagination to enjoy it though,
Morrowind merely gives a player freedom to explore its world it feels like a simulation in many ways, but it fails as a fun Computer Game there are several faults in it but its main fault is the lack of atmosphere concerning the main story other than that its a fantasy world simulator and editor, but not as good as it could have been.(I think you would have much more fun dreaming up your own world to live in.) Points against Morrowind 1)Quests rarely lead to intresting rewards or outcomes 2)The Main story seems neglected most of the time building little suspense (Not like Deux Ex or W&W) 3)No Cutscenes or unpredictable behaviour from the NPCs rarely do you feel you have to make loads of saves incase you mess something up, and end up doomed. 4)No Immune To Damage creatures all combat mostly ends up got big sword easily obtained now i can wack anything.(unlike AD&D) 5)Only About 5 Minutes of originally recorded music, that creates no atmosphere between differant locations.(Hardly BG2,IWD) 6)Little to nothing of decent puzzles or reasonably sized Dungeons. 7)Graphically it looks good but even compared to W&W its not that far a step ahead.(Mind you its been on the go for 4 years prior to its release) 8)Stupid character progression where at level 1 a new character can enter the Mages guild and train themselves without going outside to level 50 in under 50 hrs gametime,(This kills a lot of the Incentive of The Game making all but a small handful of ingame items worthless) this would not be bad except try to gain levels by Playing the game properly by doing quests and fighting monsters and if your not careful you can end up getting to level 2 after 100 hrs gametime. (They should have gave points to character advancement for Succsessful Questing, improving the character only if a player played the game properly, I try to when i play it.) Other Than that Morrowind is OK but not my idea of good CRPG.Id review it 70% A valiant effort at an open ended RPG With a intresting and huge Gameworld, but not a great game a slow burner that never burns hot enougth. I recommend the Baldurs Gate1+2(with expansions)and IWD1+2(With Expansions and Planescape Torment also Deus Ex if you just like First Person Games.

My party are level 8/13/11 roughly and each have about 110 hps and that's the fighters!. As for me, I'm 35 with a baby girl of 11 months. I've been playing RPGs since 1982, D&D with dice and paper and playing CRPGS since the 80s as well, Dungeon Master, eye of the beholder, pools of radiance (original), death knights of Krynn etc. More recently I loved Might and Magic 6 & 7, 8 wasn't bad either. Baldurs gate 1 and 2 were my favourites I think. Didn't like Morrowind, Wizardry 8 or NWN but reckon W&W is way up there with the best. I read fantasy books such as David Gemmel and David Eddings. Aside from PCs and RPGs I'm a serious body builder, it's nice to relax with W&W for an hour at night when the baby is in bed after a hard day working and working out after.

The toughen cheat is the answer to those 1500 hit points. In the unpatched game, drink a toughen potion or two (or cast the spell). Then go into town. When you come back out, your normal max number of hit points will be increased to whatever you went into town with. So if you've got the toughen spell, it's simply a matter of cast, enter, exit, repeat.
And I appreciate another long-time gamer, too. My first game ever was MM1, and I've played every one since then. I've dallied with a number of games, including Bard's Tale, Ultima, Wizardry, BG, and more. And congrats on the little one! They really make life special, so enjoy her now! These are some of the best times you can spend with her, so take advantage of them. She'll believe everything you say, she'll think you're the greatest, she'll love everything you do -- by the time they hit 5, that starts to end.

Thanks Bungleau,
She is a little Angel just now, but I'm sure time will change that as you say sadly. Bards Tale, of course, how could I forget the Bards Tale games with their battles with a hundred enemies at a time !. There is something about the might and magic series that no other game has been able to recreate, I remember being amazed by M&M3 at the time. The Mandate of Heaven later on was just fantastic, my G/F at of the time hated it which must say how long I spent on it, played through 3 times I think. A bit less time to devote to games now unfortunately with a partner, baby, job & weights regime to maintain.
