At last I'm in,

Just wanted to say hi to all the guys and gals at the forum, and to say thanks for the posts - without which, I may have tried to complete IWD without trekking through HoW first. Foolish I know. All that remains for me to do know is download 1.06 and TotL. Oh, and complete the game.

BTW, I think it's my fault that there was some problems with the forum last week (or was that only me). My fault or not, I'll feel apologetic anyway - just in case. I tried to register my profile, and the darned thing fell over! I was outraged (and left out in the proverbial cold).

My very first reply, and it's from the illustrious Larry himself!

P.S. Cute baby. Well done.

Greeting Lord Brass, welcome to the forum! Hey Larry do you think you could get Z to change you to Illustrious Larry? A bit humble yes, but I bet you could get used to it

The games's going quite well - I think.

With the forum's advice on party composition, I decided to start again, this time including a druid (I refer of course to Sir Moosington's 'Druid's Shock' post on that one) and your own preference for gnome cleric/illusionists. Well, you expressed an opinion about them anyway. Who says people never read the old posts for an answer first?

Is it me though, or is IWD a touch harder with HoW installed or not? It just seems that "encounters" (now I'm showing my age) that I could cope with competently before, appear to be harder - not that I'm complaining or anything.

BTW, would there be a problem with installing 1.06 and TotL after you begin the game? Please say no!

Damn! Sorry your Lordship. I'd only just replied and there you were.

(Ha, ha. Another Great of the forum replies to his first post. Rubs hands in demonic glee.)

BTW as a personal note, the less than proficient editing could well be due to a visit to the rub-a-dub for a few sherbets!

LOL Lord Brass! But no real Lords here, they just call Larry.... well Larry, and me LoA. I was running a druid in my last game but had a crash and lost it all. However with the new HoW spells they are VASTLY improved, definitly worth playing.

I second that LoA.

Don't know if you remember the original Druid from 1st AD&D, but it wasn't too tempting. I couldn't believe the improvement that's been made. Mind, the original Bard was a monolithic beast too.

You forum guys have encouraged me to try out a tights-wearing musician in my party at the moment. To early to say whether I should of had the old "mother's ruin" of a cleric/ranger instead.

BTW Thanks guys for the welcome.

I never tried the bard. I once tried a first edition one but never made it to the thief stage (a long process to be a bard back then eh?). I have heard they are good, but I cant figure how a guy strumming a harp will inspire. Must be magic or something*shrug*

...hmmm...tempting, but no.
People would nick-name me, Lusty-Larry, and I just cannot have that...
