Re: Has there been a question thread before?
But why would you want to kill such a thread?

Re: Has there been a question thread before?
Are you scared that the thread will outstrip some of the other forums?
p.s. for those who may like to debate my use of "forums" instead of "fora" as a plural I will posit the following: Through a process known as assimilation, words that were once considered "borrowed" from another language eventually become part of the standard lexicon and may conform to the mechanics of the new, or borrowing, language. Many words are still in process and can probably go either way. There are no hard-and-fast rules, but here's a reasonable taxonomy: 1. Words like forum, stadium and auditorium may be considered throughly assimilated and can be pluralized with "s" even in formal register. 2. Other Latin neuters that are not so fully assimilated and those used in scientific contexts require the Latin pluralization even in informal register: datum, bacterium, agendum (pluralization with "s" would be considered flat-out incorrect). 3. In between are some Latin neuter words that might go one way in informal register and the other way for formal register: aquarium, curriculum, medium. Any questions?

Re: Has there been a question thread before?
Why do you always have to bring up grammar lessons in dead languages?

Re: Has there been a question thread before?
Hmmm... were you assaulted by a faunum wielding a florum in the past, and had to defend against it?
As for Wellard's question, haven't those methods been tried already? And haven't they failed? Have you thought about sizable monetary contributions, in unmarked non-sequential currency notes? Might not that help out a bit?

Re: Has there been a question thread before?
Are questions with addenda against the non-rules of this thread?
Please note: 1 : the question referred to only has a single addendum, but I didn't want to restrict others and have thus allowed for multiples i.e. addenda (or both an appendix or a number of appendices for those who like neither an addendum nor several addenda). 2: see note 1 with regard to addenda/appendices. 3: addendums would be wrong, see addendum of original question.

Re: Has there been a question thread before?
How will we decide on the proper way to vote on addendums for the questions? Black / white stones, short straw, rock/paper/scissor, Florida voting machines?
