Your hair also regenerates twice as fast, cuts heal quicker, but usually scar more easily, and you have to shave and cut your fingernails every 3 days...

Yeah i know... Bleh
It's not true that nothing can be done. There are new treatments/regimes that can help with the symptoms and research continues to try to find a cure. Just do a google search for psoriasis research and see what's out there. There is also a fairly good newsgroup you should be able to find.

The first step is to get hooked up with a good dermatologist (not a general practicioner) and take it from there. My tip for the day - Dovobet

Sorry if this got a bit off-topic, but I believe the above may be of interest to some here.

Sorry to get all serious on ya, but could it be a keloid? Have you had your ear pierced? If so, sometimes the body reacts strangely to a wound such as a piercing, triggering excessive tissue growth, which can indeed be painful. If so, DON'T stick a pin in it, as that could make things worse. It's not a dangerous condition, but you'll need to see a doc.
This info comes courtesey of my med. student flatmate, so just don't assume either that I'm smart or that I'm right!

when a zit gets big you can feel it! especially in a place so thin like an ear lobe. just pop it, it'll hurt but be better in alittle bit
