After post/chat with NobleNick and others I decided to restart and re-roll and this is the result. Please tell me what you think!
(NobleNick - Do you think I need to redo my Bard, or is she OK? I'm unsure if I should have tried for higher stats for her.)

Two fighter/clerics...? I never tried it... Could be fun...

Keep us posted on how they do. The stats seem pretty good. The bard might need rerolling, but not if it is eventually going to just sit around singing war chant of the sith.

Just my thoughts...

Yep - the lady bard has good stats all in all but I could not take any area to the full 18 or equivalent and I'm not sure if that is how its supposed to be and if I should try for better.

NobleNick, your insight here would be much appreciated...

Good Party, but for the Bard it would be nice to have better intelligence. He is not going to do much fighting so lower the strength to 10 to give you 18 intelligence, he does not need wisdom so if you can lower that to put a few points in other stats like Con, and/or dex. She will after all be your only magic user so you should make it easy on yourself for learning the spells.
(edit)
OK, I see you do have a mage. I would still put int to at least 16, and distrubute points from wisdom and strenght to dex or con. If you are concerned about strength than you may be able to boost that later

I do have a specialist mage, though (the one above the bard). But you're right I'll have to tweak my bard a bit!

For the bard, dont lower strength below 12 because you will have trouble with her weight capacity later (bards can wear chainmail). IMO lower charisma since you have a paladin with CHA 18. also consider lowering CON and WIS and raise dexterity to the max, to benefit more from pickpocket and ranged weapon THACO.

Thanks, guys! I've rerolled for the bard and she now looks something like this:
str 18, dex18, con 18, wis 3, int 18, cha 13. I lost a bit of experience there but I must say I've now played through to Kuldahar in about an hour, discovering areas of the map near the mill which I had missed first time round. This party is really something!! My dual class fighter/clerics take a long while to level but that's OK - I've really kicked some but last night!

Cool - thanks inter alia, NobleNick, Pritchke and Lymond!

I think the *3*Is alitle low i hate players that put 3 i can understand 7-10 but not 3!.When i roll a fighter it gets often 18 18 18 12 10 10.A bard can hawe 16 18 16 18 12 17.

I can't imagine what the drawback would be if a character has a "3" in a non-essential area?

Just a comment on the party in general - they have been going like a hot knife through butter, through the Vale of Shadows and were currently cruising through the Temple (of what God again?)...

kartetse,

Whoa!! 85, 86, the equivalent of 91, 92.... these are rolls to be proud of!

Several notes:

1.) Some have said that your lead character should not be too lacking in INT or WIS, in addition to having CHA maxed out. I don't know. Some of my guys make rocks look like schooled sages.

2.) Every one of your hairy and brutal front line have exceptionally high STR (good!) at the expense of DEX (bad). STR spells, equipment and potions are easier to come by than DEX potions, spells, etc.; and DEX is very important for a tank [tank = character designed to RECEIVE punishment]. This was very hard for me to come to grips with, though Dundee Slaytern worked patiently with me.... If I were in your shoes, I would re-allocate points to ensure that DEX is maxed out on any character destined to be your tank, even if it means stealing STR points to do it. Your Pally is a good candidate for this, since his high saving throws make him a good tank candidate.

3.) High CON is good; but I don't know if your MC Fighter/Clerics will be given the advantage of the extra HP/clvl that this should give to a Fighter. Watch closely what happens to HP when the Fighter in your MC character levels. Make sure you are getting the HP bonus due to high CON. If not, then it might be better to make at least one of these guys a human DC Fighter-->Cleric in order to get the Fighter's benefit of the CON bonus to HP.

4.) Your Bard does not have anything at 18. Whatever the prime req for a Bard is, it should be maxed.

5.) Thieving skills are essential to the party; but a Thief sucks up a lot of expo without giving much back in the later game. I would suggest DC or MC the Thief with a Fighter (preferably, since you have the Bard, who is a spellcaster and who also leverages Fighters) or a Mage.

These are just tweaks I would make, for my own personal preferences. Your party looks set to rock as it is. I like the idea of 2 cleric Fighters PLUS a Pally: An enemy would have to take down your entire front line in order for you to lose the ability to heal. Please continue to let us know how you fare.

What's a party,
without a song?
Bard's ROCK!
Party on!!
