My local Best Buy is advertising Red Alert 2 for $15.00! Though RPGs are my absolute favorite form of PC gaming, I must admit that I do like Westwood's Command & Conquer series. So, anybody play this latest installment and what did you think? Thanks.

I have to disagree with you Dizzy, Tiberium Sun was a lot more unbalanced than Red alert2, and thus a lot easier (particulary in skirmish mode). You could win the game with one vehicle or character (the mammoth mk2,cyborg commando and so on), while Red alert2 (particulary when combined with the best add-on of all time except perhaps throne of bhaal Yuri's revenge) is a brilliant strategy game that makes tankrushing harder to perform. Red alert 2 is a bit weak on it's own (still the best in the series) but when combined with Yuri's revenge it is outstanding. You've got my thumbsup Albromor

RED alerts ok I guess; but i cant stand the AI its sooo useless.... ARGH! 50 bazoka guys standing on 2 sides of a vally; 3 tanks... who wins? u would have thought the ambushers, but no! the tanks win! (mutters to himself; about the useless AI

Red Alert 2 is good but not great. Youd think that by the fourth C&C game (discounting the non-RTS Sole Survivor) theyd have figured out how to make a passable skirmish AI. And the total lack of 3D is starting to grate on me. I dont think ill replay RA2, it just isnt good enough.

@Sigmar - Chrono Commando, Psi Commando. Theyll take down an enemy base by themselves if used carefuly. But they are a *lot* harder to use than a Mammoth MK2.

Red Alert 2 is very good, but I've always enjoyed the Blizzard RTS games better. Starcraft still rules IMHO.

Then again, I suck at RTS games, so go figure...

RA2 is great, especially if it's cheap Pretty cool setting, invasion in america. But look out if you are sensitive after the 9/11... (yep you can destroy the twin tower... Should we start a petition against Westwood )
