How do I beat Irenicus? (SPOILERS)

In Sulendnessalr, I beat Irenicus once already, but I decided that I want to go get the staff of the Magi and do whatever other missions I can before I go to hell. My fist victory over him, I BARELY eeked it out, because I DON'T KNOW HOW TO HURT HIM!?! He Casts Avsolute immunity, spellshield, spell trap, Protection from energy, Fire Shield Red and Blue, and GLobe of invulnerability. so... How DO I Beat Him? Last time, I used time stop with my mage and cast ruby ray of reversal and spell pierce and lower resistence and power word silence (although that didn't work) but the spells I cast didn't seem to do anything. So, after he got done with time stop, I ran away with the rest of my characters who were left alive, and wasted a bunch of potions hacking away at him. gimme some help here?!?

Also, I totally love this game, and I'm definately going to buy throne of Bhaal, and after that (maybe sooner) I'm gonna start up a multiplayer game with my friend!

Summon some Nishruu or Hakeashars. They'll eat him right up.

ohhh... I don't think I have any summons like that!

Hmm ... then you could exhaust his spells by running away and sending a constant stream of summoned monsters at him until he's used up all of his big spells. Then go in and hack him to death.

Or beef up a character to over 100% Magic resistance (like Viconia if you have an evil party0. That usually helps

Oh - multiplayer rocks. I think you'll enoy that 10 times as much as single player.

I dunno... my partner's kinda incompetent (hence the reason I'M the leader), and I dunno how well I'll adjust. I'm used to the "pause it and issue commands" style of fighting.

Ah, I don't mean it in abad way. he's cool and everything, and I'm sure we'll have fun (and no, he isn't a part of the forum... yet [img]smile.gif[/img] ). Like I said though, I'm worried about adjust to the whole not being able to pause it thing.

Summon your 5 stongest creatures, and kill the Balors first. Irenicus will teleport around. After you kill the Balors go for the Glaberzus. The transform into slayer just before you go for Irenicus. The slayer will just kill him before he dies.

First fight in, elven town [img]smile.gif[/img] , i used time stop and horrid wilting like 2 or 3 times... and second time, i concentrated all of my attacks on Irenicus... he fell easily... it was like one of the easiest fights in the game, honest to God...!!!

Yes, both Time Stop and Abi Dalzim's Horrid Wilting are spells with a tendency of making battles quite easy.
