What to do? I have a staff (the staff of Haggerty) that is cursed. I have tried to remove the curse in the Temple. I have been successful in removing the curse, but everytime time I go to equip the damn thing it becomes cursed again. If I have it equiped when the Priest removes the curse, it becomes unequiped. And when I attempt to equip it again, you guessed it, it is cursed again! What am I doing wrong, or is it cursed forever?

yes its cursed forever, but some cursed items actually are worth the constant loss of hp.. take the skull dagger for example. of course ive never seen the staff of hag. so its up to u if u think its worth life loss for this item it isnt really that big of a loss and i just cast heal spells every 5 min and life is good.

Welcome to the board, RVN68!!!

Items are cursed FOREVER - going to the temple only allows you to unequip the item. It does not remove the curse.

Some cursed items are actually not that bad. I had a staff that took a few hit points from my character from time to time but did more damage than the other staffs he could carry - so I used it for quite a while.

As well, the only negative thing I've noticed from cursed items has been a loss of hit points. If you equip, say, the Amulet of Life, you gain and lose hit points at the same rate, so there's no net effect.

For the most part, in my first game I gave up on any weapons but swords. By the end, everyone could use one, and it was just easier.
