In what order do most of you complete quests? I know there will be variation due to class and whether or not you are soloing. I was just curious how other people go about things.

Fangrel, you should do the quests in whatever order you want. I can't tell you how to play, and much of the fun is discovering it on your own.
That being said...
Most people handle the quests in the Promenade and the Slums first.
Have fun, and welcome to IW!

Yea, there really is no 'order' so to speak on which quests to do first. Just play the game and have a good time hunting Jon boy down.

Well, since you asked how we go about things, I personally usually go for Nalia's quest first. However, I run into the injured guy outside of town first, so I go back to the docks and do the Harper quest (probably fight a few slavers along the way) do the keep, get called by Valen and Gaelan's little messenger (as soon as I get 15,000 gold) etc, etc. For me the quests usually roll into one another...but I always complete the ones I can before doing the main story...as I've gathered most people do anyway.

And Welcome to Ironworks!!

If I am playing neutral or evil (or I just do not plan on adding Imoen to the party), then I'll take my time. However, if I am adding Imoen to my lineup, I go straight to the Slums (you can get 15,000gp if you sell off stuff just from that one quest). I won't even do the Circus Tent unless I plan on adding Aerie. In fact, last game I never even left the city before I was off to Chapter 4. Since I play good most times (and almost always take Imoen), that means I end up doing all of the quests later in the game most times. Besides, the side quests upgrade monsters (i.e. earn you more xp) if you wait until later to do them (i.e. when you are higher level).

Sorry Illumina, I was just curious as to what others do. Sometimes I head straight off to Nalia's, others I hang around the city. Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. I do enjoy this board very much.

I didn't mean to sound harsh... though rereading, I see how it might be interpreted as such. I was just encouraging you to do your own thing.

I agree with Nerull. The only real quest order decision is whether you want Imoen in you party. When you get her from Spellhold she's going to have 400,000 EP and be level 11. If you put off going for her, she will be lagging behind the rest of the party (and the monsters you meet) in terms of her spell casting capability, until you reach the experience cap. You can wait a bit and pick her up at a slightly higher level, but due to the slow levelling up of mages, she will probably be even further behind the rest of the party in EP.

Soloing or not I always do the same.

First I do the easy quests without/little fighting involved. (Skinner murders,Slavers,Circus tent...)

Then I do more difficult quests. Those are usually Stringhold quests.

I usually do all the quests in Chapter 2 except the Twisted Rune and both Dragons.(Sometimes Kangaxx) It depends on my level.

Then to Chapter 3 and smooth sailing. In Chapter Six i do

first two levels of Watcher`s Keep then I go after the two bosses.
