I have to say that it is very close to the most ridiculous thing that I've ever seen. Watching a couple of huge guys act like their hitting people, but actually missing by a foot, is not my idea of fun. The fact that there's about 10000 people there cheering for there favourite wrestler when the whole thing is a set up is beyond me!

Anyway, each to there own I guess!

Do you mean greco-roman and freestyle also or did you just mean different pro-wrestling organizations? Real wrestling does not get the credit it deserves as a good martial art because no one sees it in the movies.
As I've said, I mean any type of wrestling. Do agree on your observations regarding freestyle and Greco-Roman, too. They actually do strike me as more exciting to watch as well. There's just this something about two underdressed, well-built males wrapped excitedly around each other that I find tremendously arousing. The displays of raw masculinity and power...

I do seriously intend to come over to the States someday to learn some collegiate wrestling (in Singapore there's no such thing). Hope someday I'll be able to come over...

I honestly think wrestlers in the WWE are quite good actors. They have to portray exaggerated, comical characters, and they pull it off quite well. I think the action is also well done too.

As you may suspect, I really like wrestling, for the comedy, the action, and the twisted storylines. I also appreciate it because it actually something different and unique- quite unlike anything else you can find on TV, except perhaps for anime, which is also original and out there.

And if you write off wrestling simply because it's fake, then you have missed the main point about wrestling. Nobody says its real. Watching wrestling is just like enjoying a film or theatre performance. Once you can aacept that, then you may well become addicted to it...that's what happened to me, anyway

Largely agree with Grimslade. WWF etc may not be real wrestling, but I honestly think it's a lot more dangerous. Those fellas in the ring really are courageous dudes, and I think they deserve some of our respect for that. Heck, I'm not too sure if I'd like to try some of those stunts myself.

Anime? Hate it. You see one, you've seen them all. It's throughout all eternity the same oversized, sparkling eyes, the same small, lipless mouth, the same sickly-sweet cutie-pukey face. Sorry to you anime lovers out there, but that's honestly how I feel...

But at least it is SUPPOSED to be a joke... if they were actually trying to be serious it would be quite sad
If all those moves were for real, 'sad' would be something of an understatement. A lot of those fellas would get killed; it would be utterly tragic. WWF would become like the gladiatorial matches of ancient Rome.

WWF is not wrestling...it's sports entertainment. That are not trying to tell you that it is real. They are highly skilled acters and actresses that are also very athletic (sp) and put on quiet a show. Not I'll admit, I've seen some matches that were pretty crappy. But some of them can be quite entertaining.

And for all the people out there that don't understand how we can get into WWF stuff, ask the same people who get into Soap Operas. It's just the "male" equivalent.

Just my 2gps

if you think wresting is funny, you should check out some of the fans.especially the die hard fans that think it's real.i knew a guy once, years ago,who wanted to go to one of the matches with a gun so he could shoot some wrestlers called the russians.that's how much he believed in wrestling.but the really bad part was he was in the navy defending the country.scary.
