The gnome says, "Good morrow, strangers. I trust that you have no bad intent, for old Groningle is defencelss. You see, I have nothing that a bandit might want, living frugally in this swamp. In fact, if you have any spare food, I could use it, for I have not eaten in days, that I can recall."

The gnome replies, eyes looking wildly around, "Why it was once nice, yes it was, it just recently became as it is, and I was just about to move, I was, when you nice humans came along and I thought maybe you could aid an old gnome." (He seems to be fiddling around with something under his rags.)

Khaz`Djir with a calm voice:"What kind of aid do you require, you stupid, fat gnome?" the old gnomes eyes turn into a strange golden colour and an aura of darkness sorrounds him:"do not tempt me, fallen elf! i have more power than you could ever imagine!" Khaz`Djir starts smiling "Dont you gnomes ever shut up! Get back to your cottage or whatever and invent something, you pathetic excuse for a gnome!" Gnome:"hahaha! if youre this ignorant to any powerful being you meet, then you are already dead. ah, but youre lucky im more kind than most would be." he casts a curse "know that from this day forward, you can never insult anyone, who is more merciful than you. now, do not interrupt! or you will get a more.. suitable curse."

You notice that, as he gestures, the outlines of some of the furniture grow indistinct.

JETT (Grabs the gnome by his shirt front) "Hey, this whole thing stinks of illusion. Can't one of our mages or clerics dispell the illusion? Before I spit this little guy on my dagger. I find that spoils most illusions."

the gnome writhes in Jetts grip, but cannot tear loose. He seems to grasp whatever he has been fiddling with under his gament more firmly and points behind you, saying, "Look out your worships, it's a demon!" You look behind you and a Balor stands there!

He grabs the gnomes arm, and rips the item that the gnome have been using out of his hand.

"And what is this?"
