also, turning down the difficulty would help . i'd suggest easy and low spawn frequency. i usually play w/ hard and high spawn freq and run into 10-20 enemies every 2 feet! as i recall (im not at home and forgot how to do so) but when you are in the game goto the computer in bottom left corner. and goto.. oh well my memory is getting hazy.. just read your manual or figure it out by going through all the menus, i think its game settings but not sure. after you change difficulty you will have to reset your game and start all quests and wonderous adventures over. you can either keep your current characters or create new ones.

errm, is having only one party member surive the fight against the trolls bad? heehhehehe, i got two of them down! then my pixie priest was killed, the my elephant priest, then my elf wizard, then my lizard warrior, then my... it was really sorda pathetic... am i supposed to click faster? i was taking my time , didnt notice a difference untill i only had my pig warrior and ratling wizard left...

is ratling a viable race for wizard? it has the +1 int
i'd suggest only 1 priest and more warriors. then your charc. will have moe hitpoints and should survive. ive never tried a ratling wizard before so i dunno...

okok to refresh kar_mod 1's memory, when u r in the game (as in CLICK on the "start adventure" button in the main menu), go to the bottom left screen. u will see a button which looks like a computer. click on it and WALA, everything u need 2 adjust the game is in the screen which pops up next (adjust spawn frequency, difficulty level, safeguard mode etc.). there is where you will find the "RESET adventures" option.
there u go, ENJOY!!!!!

g thanks for the advice! Ermm i was only able equip my warriors... since i couldnt find any affordable stuff for the casters.. also after reading more of these posts i have been getting confused... does the thing your char starts out as matter? can a warrior become a caster with all 7 spell types? in that case do i need to start out with anything but one priest 4 warriors and one rogue?
also what does leadership do? im a bit confused on why it is the slightest bit important except to be there... and how does the horse work? do i need a horse for each dude, or one horse for my whole group? or can i only use horses once i have 6...?

thanks for all the replies as well

am i going to find good loot later in the game? or will i always be buying from the stores? and ermmm what is goldiger?

your newb to this game as always,
Corey

You see thatīs were the gold cheat comes in handy. YOu get the gol dto get some nice equipment for all your characters. *ducks from Bungleauīs punches* The stats can be important if you plan what class the charcter should become first, for instance if you want one of the warriors to become a samurai you may want to adapt your stats to those required fro a samurai and so on. And yes, a warrior can learn all spell types later in the game! But then a wizard can become any warrior class you like so donīt dismiss them so easily . Wizards are pretty nifty in the start. The monsters hace low hps and magic never misses itīs target! A couple of zaps or burns and the trollies will be some piles of ash . Leadership doesnīt work itīs that simple so donīt waste your skillpoints. You only need one horse for your entire party be them two or six, it doesnīt matter. These are magical flying horsees . A standard starting party would be 1 priest, 1 wizard, 1 rogue and 3 warriors. As you get better at the game you may want to change those. I usually start with 2 wizards, 1 priest, 1 rogue (uograded to barbarian pronto) and 2 warriors. Hope this helps!

Edit: And gold digger is a trait that ratlings have. It makes you find more gold in chests.

I haven't played W&W in ages but I just wanted to say one thing. Don't Despair!I found it is one of the most challenging games out there. It doesn't make it a bad game but you do need alot of patience with it starting out. In the end if you finally complete it, it will all be worth it.

Hmmm.... can't open the other gate... are you running on WinXP or Win2k, by chance? Those are symptoms of a need for the virtualdub fix -- check the Technical Answers Thread for instructions on how to do that, and how to address a couple of other Win2k/XP issues as well.

What I usually do when running (and I do it often) is to keep the tiny map display open and watch where I'm going there. I'll open the big map occasionally to get my bearings, but then I'm back to running. You should be able to outrun anything (although they WILL hunt you down).

From where you're at, I'd try to go back to an earlier save (before you ran into these trollies that eat you later). Then make sure to approach them in combat, getting close enough so your warriors can hit them with their swords.

It can be frustrating getting started, but once you're going, the fun level really picks up!

And if you canīt find your way, stake it out with flags! Open up the large map from time to time and put a flag on the road. That way you only have to follow them back the way you came And if the trollies can atch you you arenīt holding down shift...

.. ...After you do the 'Vertualdub' fix .....Me tinks you need to follow the advise given by, KAR_MOD1 and LiOnHe@rt, and use the games most powerful spell. Even more powerful then Bungleau's (well named) ...'Reverse Time' spell. (ie..reload a saved game)
You need to use....RESET adventures. (Modify Time...Altered States?) In your case...you won't benefit much, by what you get to keep....But....it Will reset the trolls, to their original starting point.

Take your party back to town and Click on the computer icon (in the lower left corner) on the game screen....On the 'Game Options' menu, set difficulty to... easy.....and frequency to..... seldom.
Now click on Reset Adventures.
If your characters have leveled up...keep them.
If not....Give All their gear to one character..and...Roll some new ones, with better stat's. (follow Willows suggestions, for a good starting party)

When you leave town....Go West...meet the strange traveler and slowly walk the path....(you know the trolls are just ahead) Start the battle and watch your health. When you need to 'Run Away, Run Away'....Don't run in a straight line...and Don't run far...just out of range...(til none of the characters are 'greyed out')...and heal, as much as you can. Then...If possible...run through the trolls, to lead them away from town...and wait for them to come back. You gain health and mana while you wait, but Don't go too far...(don't pass their original staring point)....or you'll trigger the next group of monsters.
When you Do finally kill them..(and you Will kill them... ..)...make sure and pick up everything they drop. Trolls usually drop healing potions. Now, either buy one in town...or...have one ID'ed...and give all the unidentified heal potions to the character that bought it. Now, if you divide them and pass them around...they should all be able to ID, healing potions.

Sell everything you can't use...buy better/more stuff....and start out towards the graveyard again.
... ..before you enter the graveyard...
1.Make sure you visit the town hall and talk to the mayor about 'Bounties'.
2. Visit 'Bilbump'...He's on a loop trail to the East(?), just before the graveyard gates.

and another... ....walk very slow and from one side to the other, in the graveyard.

Good Luck and ...KEEP US POSTED!!!!

Just a point to remember, Warriors cant learn all the magic schools. Only wizards can learn stone magic.
WillowIX, if I'm wrong please let me know how it's done.
