Still, considering that most swords in the middle ages were very dull. Its about the same I imagine. The only good thing about a sword was it could pierce something. Hacking always ended up more like a clubbing.

Wait a sec--aren't those the wrong runes on Glamdring?

The sword was forged in Gondolin, by Elves, in the First Age. If I recall correctly, any script on such a weapon would have been in the Feanorean letters, such as those on the One Ring--but the engraving on the hilt of this Glamdring uses the runes more commonly used by Dwarves and Men. Is this right?

Actually, what I was talking about is the construction of the sword itself. The tang on it is a cheap rat-tail weild that is not very durable at all. If you were to hit anything with any of these nice looking swords the blade would break off of the hilt. As to the sharpness, it varies with the sword type and the user.

All the swords are magnificent but they are a bit expensive ! I always wanted to start a sword collection but I never had the money to buy the swords I wanted and my dad never let me .
