My question is this, do any of the items such as calipers, hand scythe, pickaxe, scales, shears, shovel, weight and a lot more I won't name, have a use? Most of them have no gold value, but do they help in repairing armour, or gathering ingredients, or making potion?

Kinda makes you wonder why any developer would want to fill up a game with so many useless items, doesn't it? Only thing i can think of is that they must have given it some serious thought to actually let us work for our coins, and be picky while we're at it. I must admit that during my first run through Oblivion i picked up virtually anything that crossed my path, and if i recall correctly, it wasn't very different during my first Morrowind run. After a while you'll smarten up, and stick with items that really increase your personal treasury, but if you don't use any plugins, you'll have a long grey beard before you're actually at that point.

I was hopin that some of the stuff would increase your chances of harvesting, although I've gotta say, that stuff really ways down your inventory. I take it that pen and parchment slso don't allow you to do anything. I really wanted to write a book, or make a death spell.
