I managed to clear two floors of the crypt and was sent to the elven warriors test room for an item. Well, I just sent my ranger running up to get it off the pedestal and then realized.. OOOPS! The whole BLEEPING place is acid trapped and now I cannot get OUT of this room! Keep dying or being bounced back to the pedastal! Any suggestions?

And no...I stupidly forgot to save before it, so I don't have any other saves to go back to...argh..that'll teach me to play in the wee hours of the morning!

Also, any pointers on how to get to the wailing thing (wraith)?

When you first walk into the room, rays of red light coming from the pillar were touching certain squares on the floor. After activating the pillar, the lights dissappeared. The light rays are the key to this puzzle.

The key to getting out is to only walk on the squares the red lights were not touching when you first enter the room. Its kinda like the game concentration, you have to remember where the light rays were and weren't touching or get real lucky, or maybe even (worse case scenario) reload from an autosave if neither of those work for you. Perhaps someone knows or remembers the pattern and can walk you through it.

As fair as the wailing thing, I dunno what you are refering to, unless you speak of the visual effects coming from the middle of the area, that's purely cosmetic.

ACK, I'm fried... Ok, I'll see about the autosave...WAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

The sound effects etc were near the middle of the crypt, yes. I mean the wraith that's supposedly causing trouble that the elven spirit told us about.

Hmmm, the only spirit I recall causing trouble was the one who was looking for his sword, did you speak with that fellow in one of the crypts in the IIRC northwest part of the area? If thats not it maybe I missed that one, so I wanna know too.

That sucks you'll have to go back with the autosave- maybe try waiting to see if anyone else on IW has a diagram of the safe squares to walk on.

Getting in is easy, you just stay on the squares that are lit up.

IIRC, go to the corner of the platform on the upper left as you are facing the door. Walk straight to your left to the edge of the checkboard and off it. Then walk along the edge of the room to the door staying OFF the checkboard.

Thanks guys! I'll try that route, Micah!

Chewbacca, I did give the one spirit his sword, so maybe that's all there was. Seems like I've been in all the rooms by now!

Spoiler.

You should already know this. When you came down the stairs take the first left. Talk to Nilmaldor. He should explain to you about the wailing spirit. You have the key from him so you should have heard the story. Atleast I think that was where it was.

Thanks Granamere! I did talk to him and I thought the one I gave the sword to was the wailing one? Or did I miss something major?

Oh, btw, THANKS MICAH! I'm free and chasing gnolls!

Cloudbringer I had forgot about the stolen sword quest. I was thinking about the spirit that is sreaming on the second level. The one that really drove me bonkers until I was further on in the crypt and out of range of the screaming. I fnished the kolbods fist than went back and did the side quest. Sorry abut that.
