I swear – there are lots of types of games that can take a lot of time to play, but I don’t think any other genre ultimately ends up costing me so much overall game-playing time in the end. I think I must spend about 120 to 200 hours on each RPG I play. Is that average? How much time do you think you spend on RPGs on the average, and what’s the longest game you ever played?

i'm not surprised if bg2 took me more than 300 hours to play, especially since i restarted very often. i've spend lots of time playing with the NWN toolset and the game i'm only in chapter 1, guess i plaed nearly 100 hours on it and i only have it 1 month. playing pen and paer takes much time as well and rpgs are the only games that are really addicting for me

So far Master's of Orion 2 is the most addictive gave I have ever played. I do spend a lot of time on RPG's but I have never started playing on a Friday night and stopped on Sunday evening with out sleeping. MOO2 has done that to me. Now I have started playing NWN on a Friday slept got up and started playing again slept again then started playing again on Sunday just never straight through. MOO3 releases soon I hope. I should also say MOO2 is the only non RPG game I have been addicted to.

That's 1,095 hrs. of gameplay! So, is that for one game? Did you ever play Xengears? For console, that was always my favorite. They say Xenosaga will have about 80 hrs. of gameplay... That's 80 days for you, 9_1_6!

Well, I spent well over 200 hours on FF6, and that's hardly the only RPG I've ever played. Off the top of my head, I can think of another 125 hours on Secret of Mana, 50 hours on FF4, 50 hours on Chrono Cross, 40 hours on Chrono Trigger, 60 hours combined on FF7 and FF8, 25 on FF5, 40 hours on BG2, and 10 on NWN. That's 600 hours right there. Most of those are low estimates too, by the way.

Basically, it all amounts to me spending too much time on RPGs. But I knew that already.

btw, is there any new gossip on Xenosaga? (assuming I'm not the only Xenogears player here) - it's so close to being released and yet no one has said anything about it, other than me... it's driving me crazy!

A few of you have mentioned NWN in your discussion. However, I ask that all of you try to relate your conversation in some way to NWN, or I will need to move this thread to be active on the Miscellaneous RPG forum.
Thanks

Good point. Well, here's a related question: Who has spent more time on NWN than on any other game, how much time have you spent and how much more time to you estimate you will continue to spend on NWN before you have to stop?
