POLL- What class do you think is the best?

I've always like fighter/ mages. In the original Baldur's Gate my favorite character was a multiclass fighter/mage that I ran through a couple of times (very nice with the add ons and the xp cap removed).

In BG2 I did it as a dualed specialist- mostly because I liked the way the specialization opposition schools were done there. Again, that character rocked big time.

Here I don't like the opposition schools as much, because they severly limit what a specialized mage can cast and survive with- especially if there isn't another specialist mage in the group. And with all the trinkets allowing you to memorize extra spells anyways, who needs it? shoot, right now he's got something like 10 1st and 2nds and 6 5th level spells memorized do to the magic items, plus all the other spells he's got, so I'm not hurting on the number of spells. Plus I'm not limited in what kinds of spells to cast.

And in Trials of the Luremaster I've had big chunks where he's not casting at all anyways, just playing machine gun with his bow (which is quite fun to watch by the way)

so yeah, in my opinion fighter mages rock big time.
