the little boy at the city gates never appeared to give me the umar hills quest. now, i'm ready to do the final battle with bodhi, but if my romance gets turned into a vampire and dies, i don't have umar hills to take them to revive. anyone experienced this, or know what to do? is there an ovverride map available with all places on it? any help would be appreciated.

The boy does not appear in City Gates, he is in Government District near the middle statue of the courtyard.

Also, you might want to do the Umar Hill quest first, the place of resurrecting romance NPC is NOT in Umar Hills, it is in the dungeon of the Temple Ruins, which will be accessible as part of the Umar Hill quest.

If you have Minsc in your party, the boy will appear in one of the city maps.
