Walls crawl.
So, I'm doing the search for the hyper wall grid that Dinonykos made (an empty wall form with all the perspective lines added for help with wall creation), and I saw an interesting set of posts that I'm rehashing becuz it made me think of a question.
original post "whats beyond hyper walls" http://www.ironworksforum.com/forum/...ighlight=walls I was wondering, has anyone requested making gif file compatability for DC? I mean, I could imagine using animated gif files (or something equivalent) to have a mill (complete with spinning wheel in water or a giant set of fan blades for a windmill) Anyone know whether or not this is feasable? I mean I think it would prolly be a pain to code in, becuz animated gif files would be a set size and you'd have to change files for 2-3 views (2 assuming you don't show animation at far range...). Just askin. BTW, where would I find templates for tall, extended, and/or hyper walls? Would the "square walls" view made by manikus have a template and/or an empty wall file. I understand that I cannot use the two together (unless there is some future add-on that would fit them in the same mod) ST EDIT - sorry, found the prior post I had asked for Dinonykos wall templates at other forum, sorry EDIT AGAIN - sorry, but the links from Dinonykos web site don't have the wall template zips

Re: Walls crawl.
No need to be sorry for anything, ST. I figure the more we talk about stuff, the better.
GIF format is on the feature request list. I don't know how Paul and I are going to handle the requests when we get to that, but at this point, I plan on prioritizing them much the way we did the bugs...that means I get to determine what goes where on the list. This and a couple of other graphics issues will be in the select top tier along with the database requests (race, class, baseclass, traits). But, don't hold your breath. Before we get to requests after version 1.0 comes out, we will be doing lots and lots of bug fixing. I'm guessing there are a lot of little script errors to be resolved on top of all of the code issues. |

Re: Walls crawl.
Extended and hyper walls are two different things - if you're going that route, skip the extended walls and use hyper walls instead.
Do you mean this grid? http://www.ironworksforum.com/forum/...3&postcount=11 And this template? http://www.ironworksforum.com/forum/...1&postcount=44 |

Re: Walls crawl.
Now that you're running Windoze again, any more thoughts about trying your hand at using 3D tools to create art?

Re: Walls crawl.
If I cannot get control over my computer, and believe me I know how to copy a file into a folder..., then that would be a definate no. But, if I can figure out this windows 7, then maybe...
I would like more to make my own than use premades, cuz premades may have a lot going on but it would still be hard to customize. Example: lets say I want to make an evil priesthood which wears dark blue, and the general outfit has chainmail, cloak and hood, shield and mace. This would prolly be no big deal, but I dunno hard it would be to add the evil priesthood symbol to the front of a shield for example, or make a special shaped mace like "midnight" or "maiden of tears" (if I remember correctly) from dragonlance and the cleric quintet, respectively ST ps, summary: haven't written it off yet.

Re: Walls crawl.
ST, I'm trying to think back to when I was getting started...changing graphics is something that is pretty easy to pick up right away, creating new mesh objects is harder and "morphing" existing mesh objects (by changing the mesh in an outside program) is hardest of the three. These are relative difficulties, as I think they are all pretty easy, it's just a matter of getting comfortable.
Plus, I think I'm a pretty good resource. |

Re: Walls crawl.
Well, I saw that DAZ had made some game content creator, and this gave me thoughts of renewing my 3d artwork pursuits. Later, but almost a guarantee. I'm posting this due to my interest in the square view wall format made by manikus. Is that something available for download?
