It does keep your heart in your throat, ulp! I love the Alchemy spells she's getting, and with her summoned elemental and fire ring, plus the duration spells (she just got Death Cloud, watch out!) she's a force to be reckoned with. Finally arrived at the Swamp and even the Dire Mares retreat before her, lol. Got Powerstrike and Snake Speed already and am working on Power Cast. Can't get complacent though, because sleeping to get mana back is still mighty risky.
I'd like to try a lone Gageteer but that really would be tough.

Ach. Solo Ninja. I started, just to get a taste, 3 chicks of the ancient eastern arts (Sam, Monk, Ninja). But the thought of running through the game w/o a gadgeteer's constant X-Ray or a Bard's Magic Shield--ah, the tedium. I'm just not ready for it.
More on topic: I managed (with Chameleon) to get all the way back to Crock from Upper Marten's Bluff w/o a single encounter (okay, I had to reload once). If you can, bring someone who can manage X-Ray, so you know what to avoid. The only XP the rest of the party got was from Crock (either killing him or killing the darn Frog). There's no way to avoid the temp member getting some XP, alas. Incidentally, I reloaded about 40 times in front of the idol: the PCs in position 1 and 6 never were kidnapped. Only took members 2, 3, 4, or 5 (and not quite evenly distributed). So maybe there won't be any kidnapping? I'm reasonably sure that the solo game was beta tested.

The Lone Ninja... I'd suggest that you import one from previous games Right now I'm replaying CODS to be able to import my faerie ninja (name Corpus, level... umm... around 80 ). I can't really imagine any other starting place than the Monastery. Maybe the Umpani Camp, if you get any xp for completing training.
Also, does anyone know how skills change when imported? I guess that HP/Stanima/SP are not imported, rather rerolled... Going about with half a thousand hit points would be fun though. Oh yeah, killing Croc: I first killed him 'cause he didn't sell me any gadgets, and I wanted those things >

Call me crazy, but I'm trying the solo (hobbit) gadgeteer. Lone Faerie Ninja? it's been done
Sheesh, this is harder than I thought. One noxious slime can take her out without too much trouble. The crabs near the gazebo are too hot to handle at the beginning. Wish me luck.

Puts the thrill back into the game, eh, T'ernie'F? LOL Good Luck!!
The faerie ninja actually becomes so powerful that when it comes time to retrieve her from Crock, the biggest challenge is keeping Vi (or whoever you choose) alive while traversing the swamp or during the battle to kill Brekek. It's a hoot watching that big ol tadpole lick Vi's canned elementals into oblivion about as fast as she uncans them.. tho not so hooty having her die over and over when she runs out.. *sigh* Next you'll have to try a Bishop, right?
