When ever I click on a chest my game freezes. If I alt-tab out it says that there was a memory error at a certain address and that the application will close. I am running on an asus a7v (kt133) with 256mgs of crucial cas 2 ram, sblive xgamer (non 5.1) v3 3000 under win2k. I have sp2, dx 8.0 and all the latest drivers as far as I know. The v3 drivers are not digitally signed since 3dfx folded before they were official but they work in every other game I play. I run in software mode. I have been playing diablo 2 which uses all of my ram and I've never had a memory error happen there, so I don't think my memory is the problem. Could I have had a bad install? Does anyone have the number of files and installation size written down except the saves of course. Thanks for any help you can give, it is very frustrating.

Hmmm it seems to be working so far. I switched to d3d mode, a lot prettier except for all the green hew.

Pugnex: did running in D3D mode solve the chest-crashing problem? You are right, the graphics are better there except for the greenish hue. Actually, I think it made things look a lot more eerie that way, too.

hi all... i am having a strange issue that doesn't seem to be described or referenced in this thread... i cannot enter the magic shoppe and another building in the first town, on mouseover they do not flash and cant be clicked on, so no entry... i was assuming that magicians and rogues had to wait until the next town to join guilds, but i guess this isn't so... in my initial thread someone directed me to this thread but i cannot find any mention of this issue here... any info would be greatly appreciated! i haven't experienced any crashes of any kind, but my system specs are listed below:

dual P4 Xeon 1.7 (intel 860 chipset)
2gb RDram
SGI Quaddro V3 (64mb nVidia)
Soundblaster PCI128
Intel 10/100 integrated NIC
Adaptec 29160 u160 scsi adapter
4 36gb Quantum 10k drives

Win XP Pro (build 2600 RTM) <-[ is this my problem? oh no!

any tips would be greatly appreciated... i love this genre of game, and this is the only modern example i can find!

Hi,

Has anyone come up with a solution to the green hue in the dungeons?
