I finally got this graphic program to work (refer to previous topic on installation problems) and I have one more problem which needs fixing.

To cut a long story short!

*I bought a graphic program
*Scratched CD, didn't work
*The company didn't give me a new CD
*Downloaded the program
*Some things didn't work
*Deleted the program
*Got the program of a friend and put the program on my comp.
*Everything worked except one thing

Here's the problem!

*I click on the program and it loads fine.
*I click NEW and make a new document.
*I make some stuff with the program
*I click SAVE/SAVE AS
*It comes up with the SAVE AS screen
*I click SAVE AS and get the following error

An unexpected error has occurred (generic failure)

This also happens when I try and open something. Although sometimes when I try and open something I click OPEN and it doesn't load at all.

**What is a generic failure?
**How can I fix it so I can save/open stuff?

Ehh, whats the program called?

Sounds like some windows system files are corrupt, the save and open dialog is a part of the Windows systemfiles (I once knew the name of the .dll file it's in but I forgotten... found a life... ) so if if it happens in other windows programs too then you should reinstall windows, no need to delete or format just install it over the old one and all the files are renewed...

Generic failure can mean a lot of things. It just means that there is no classification programmed for the error that has occurred. The bad news is that you probably can't fix it. The only time you might be able to fix it is if it's caused by some memory or hard-disk access problem in which case try running it with fewer programs in memory or try running it after rebooting.

Hate to say it, but it sounds like you've run afoul of some copy protection. It's certainly possible, anyways.

The dialog you're getting reminds me of the one you get when you run microsoft software from a burned cd.

I tried Saving/Opening in other programs and it works fine. It's just that program.
