Shenmue...

I spend 5 days straight and didnt even bother to deal with anything in the environment I just went with the main storyline. The non-linearness of it scared me to death and it was only an EPILOGUE

O_O

I havent played Shenmue II yet but I bet its even longer...

*edit* i should also point out that plans to have 16 sequels are in the works

O_o

My old fav DOS game: Darklands.

This game never seems to end. All the quests are recycled from time to time. You can play until your party die of old age, even that, you could replace old party members with young blood and the aventure continues on and on...

The same can be said for PSO, the recyling continues without avail and before you know it you're level 200 with all the rare items and spent 80,000 hours of your life on the game like me o_O

Yeah, but that is how MMORPG game developers make money. As a stand alone, single player game, I vote for Darklands; PC of course. I have never own a console in my life except the old ATARI 2600 or something...

Games like Diablo and Darkstone where you can level up, find better gear etc and replay the game over and over at different difficulty levels can be unending.

In theory, you could get your characters to the point of having the best of everything, but I've never got there

I think Captive claims the prize with darklands. There was generator which generated a new level when you cleared one. I think it was said it contains over 99 000 levels. Considering that each level takes several hours of playing, you can not accomplish all of them in your lifetime. At least I haven't heard anyone had.

should be Final Fantasy 8, I had to waste sooooooooo much time to draw magic from monsters. each person need to draw about 255. that alone will take a lot of time. but when you have 6 people. arghhhhhhh!!

being that I was a Atari 520 st owner and there weren't a lot of programs for it. I spent 6 years in the dungeon master game.

Now I know this is really crazy, but is there a way to play this darklands on my
windows pentium 4 NNNOOOTTT!!!!!

I think I will try one of those on-line games.
