If you have, did your Sorcerer have INT below 18 and did this effect the level of spells you could cast. That is to say can a Sorcerer with an INT of 17 cast 9th level spells or can one with an INT of 15 cast 8th level spells. I know INT dictates how high of a spell a mage can cast but I have read that this is not the case for Sorcerers. Does anyone have experience that confirms or refutes this? If not, does anyone have a link to 2nd edition rules that may clarify this for me. Thanks.

Not sure if this does affect sorcerers but according to 2nd edition book, 18 int and up can cast9th level spell so 17 int can only cast 8th.

onthepequod, I beleive this is what your looking for, it's actually very interesting, because sorcerers should be using 3rd edition rules, but are using 2nd because thats what BG2 uses. Sorcerers would be far to powerful if implemented using 3rd edition rules.

Not really sure but i when i played a sorcerer i just maxed out both INT and WIS so insure that i get no downsides.
Besides what other attributes but those two are important to magic user.

Nostron, I believe a high constitution to be of use to a magic user, and dexterity also, as mages are notorious for not getting huge AC's. Strength and charisma seem to be the ones you can let slide.
