ok heres the deal, got a trojan/adaware on other comp somehow (that mystifies me greatly actually) called ad-binet, but norton couldn't get rid of it for some reason. Now I looked at the Norton page on this file and it said that if it was activated it would change all these registy files, so I checked them all and none were changed, then I manually searched for the files and deleted them.

But now I have a problem, which may or may not be in anyway related. Everytime I connect to the net it works fine for a couple of minutes but then just drops the connection and wants me to reconnect, it will do this over and over.

I have also run Spybot V3, and it finds nothing, I would run housecall, and have tried, but I cant get the files downloaded quick enough. So what do I do? I dont even know if these two things are related? Another point to note it that that connection works on this computer, although lately it has been slower than normal.

Also, broadband arrives tomorow, BOOST!

I just had the same problem, did you run the program wizard and shut it off before deleting it? mine was a different trojan though, so not sure about it

Sounds like it may have dropped in a dialer or something... you might want to make sure you have a current version of SpyBot and Ad Aware, and get a copy of HijackThis as well -- it looks for strange behaviors as opposed to specific spyware.

Check the properties for your network dial-up connections as well. It would really suck if something switched your dial-up to look for a number in Costa Rica....

In other words, the webmaster will take all of those posts away from you and start you back at "1".

I have seen him do it to another guy once, about two or three years ago. The kid lost like 500 posts for being stupid.

thanks Scudgod, that was ehm, really...helpful!

As for the ctrl+alt+del thing, its nothing to do with that. And Im dialing the right number (checked that before, made sure I wasnt paying £1.50 per minute for some stupid porn thing or the like) Not really sure what else it could be.

Il shove hijack this on (Il transfer it from this computer, and see what looks strange)
