This is an affront to the bible! A defile of the highest sort!

Every time somebody buys sour pickles, its mere presence in the refridgerator makes some of the other food products and beverages taste like it!

Like today morning, I tried to eat some cottage cheese, only to find it taste like a heap of fungi(or sour pickles; whichever it was)!

Even worse, I just opened the refridgerator and *threw away* a pack of half a litre of milk because it had already been diseased by the evil that could only have been the sourus pikulas! I opened a brand new package, that had been bought only a few hours ago and was located as far as possible away from the wretched bag of pickles(both within the fridge, of course). Little did I know that the Unholy Food's limit of affection(cloud of death) had already poisoned even that package of milk! Now it probably(I wouldn't know) tastes like a thicker sort of white liquid(or sour pickles; whichever it was)!

The Terror has defected many packages of milk, cottage cheese and keefir. In fact, it seems to affect milk products the most.

Have you experienced anything similar? How to get ahold of this dilemma?

Thanks.

Yeah we usually have some really spicy hungarian sausages and if they're kept too close to the cheese, the cheese starts tasting spicy

The sausages and cheese are nice seperately and if you plan to make a sandwich with both in anyway, then it doesn't matter if the cheese is "infected" However, if you just want some cheese with your toast it can be annoying, LOL

Put some baking soda in a dish and put that in the refrigerator. It'll help keep the smells and tastes from intermingling.

Is that one of those tricks you learnt in Russia Cloudy?

But I'm slightly sceptical - how can baking soda stop chemicals in the air?

This is strange!

Now, after getting my act together and eating one sour pickle, I tried a drop of the infected milk again. Then I tried a larger drop. Then I drank half a glass. Then I was convinced the milk was good enough for a glass of muesli, which I just finished.

Hmm, I could've sworn I felt the most unusual taste when I first tried the milk. Perhaps eating a sour pickle made my tongue less sensitive about the stuff? Or is it some sort of conspiracy?

In any case, I gots me milk back. Thanks everybody.

Baking soda actually absorbs the odors, Vask. Which means, of course, that if you use it to cook with or brush your teeth, that whole experience will just be nasty...

Cloudy is a 100% right if you keep Baking soda in the fridge the backing soda absorbs the odurs. I thought this was common knowldge. I have a bowl of the stuff in my fridge as we speak. And everything taste as it should.
