I'm thinking of getting one. Anyone out there who already owns one or knows what I should be looking for?

Don't have one but it's obvious what you should be looking for. Longest battery life, highest capacity for lowest price . Of course making it a good brand if you can so it's more reliable.

well, it should be of a good brand, and its more small than a cd player so its good

but then, id rather you buy an MD player than and MP3 player... a friend of mine said that the MP3 player is accident prone... once dropped or whatever, poof!

I would in no way recommend a minidisc player! The whole concept of it is crap. They are introducing a new medium which we simply don't need. You will have to start getting all these minidiscs and you won't be able to use your CDs or MP3s. That would make 4 formats in an average collevtion already, or maybe 5: Vinyl, cassette, CD, MP3, Minidisc- trust me- keep the formats to as few as possible, saves hassle. MP3 player is better choice- don't drop it.

Minidisc has been out for ages and hasn't taken off for that very reason. It's just like Sony Betamax - if you release in a new format it had better be DAMN good, not just an alternative. DVD is a good example of a new format that is clearly advantageous over VHS.

I've been checking CNET for some MP3s - damn confusing, man!

I don't really know where to start! I guess I want high memory, but I also want long battery life. I'll mainly be using it at the gym, so I want it to be small, and also when flying overseas.
