In my current game I've come across Montaron's body in one of the chests in the Harper hold. I don't know why I never payed attention to it before. HOWEVER, if one were to take Monty's body to Xzar instead of that bird thing, does it change the outcome of the quest? It seems like I've always just gone to fetch the bird and never thought about taking the body. Could he be resurrected? Would it allow Xzar to survive and join the party?

last time I checked Xzar is not a potential party member. well, simple solution is to take the body back and see what happens.

Xzar (and Monty) are recuitable characters with TDD installed.
In unmodded games, it is impossible to obtain his body before Xzar's death: Open the chest, and all you find is a couple gold and some Bullets. But if/when you revisit the Hold, open the chest and there's the corpse.

Thanks, SixOfSpades, that explains it. I've never opened those chests after finishing the quest before.
