I hate the fact that year after year, you can get a lot more for a lot less money, and that as soon as walk out of the store, what you bought is already becoming redundant. I'm envious - is that what you want to hear - IS IT????? .

Hell, that is the computer I have. Dell sux, they hadn't done a full install of everything when I got it, not even the resetbutton (I can't reboot it).
And man, Windows Me is just like 95/98, it just eats more ram... switch it and you'll have quite a monster ------------------ We call him Bobby Corwen [This message has been edited by Istaron (edited 07-06-2001).] |

Memnie Genie, if you haven't started yet using your new big toy, I would really really recommend you get rid of ME and install a good old W98 instead. Wish I had, when I got my new comp last year, with ME pre-installed ...

Nonsense - there's only one OS to use - Win2k (it really takes advantage of extra memory)

Just curious...why does everyone hate Windows ME so much? I read on CNET (and was told by slackerboy) that Windows 98 on a P4 will slow it down tremendously. I also read this article at www.cnet.com.
Is it really that sh!te or what? ------------------ |

Memnie, I've got ME at home, and I find it's a multitasking OS that allows only one task at a time ! I have to reboot every time I forget to breathe slowly and try to do two things at once. I have to reboot everytime I let my comp idle for an hour and come back, even without using a screen saver or anything. I have trouble with almost anything I do, and what's worse is that, as far as I know, there isn't any patch available yet.
And, explain to me, if you can, why the 'Spider' Windows card game runs faster when I am connected to Internet ?!? And yes, Win2K is a much better OS, but it is more dedicated to professional environments than to personal comps. Though, all I have heard about it is good. ------------------ The world is my oyster ! And now I have the knives to open it ... |
