I can't believe my stupidity. I had to do the "royal flush" the other day on my computer (you know, FDISK/FORMAT/REINSTALL)...everything's fine, except I forgot to back up all my wonderful fonts I've been collecting for years!!! Everything's gone except the tacky default Microsuck fonts. Auuughh!!
So the Saz-man is now on a quest for Fonts. I'm going to be checking out Font Addict, but if anyone knows of any other cool online font place, please let me know! I just hope I can find my old fonts again. *sigh* |

Sazerac, I can't help with the fonts, but I can certainly offer my sympathy. I recently went through the same thing - I had to get Windows ME off of my system. I formatted, installed Windows 98, got everything up and running. I was happy - no more Windows ME. Then I discovered that the only thing that I had managed NOT to backup was my primary documents directory. I still have all the files I've downloaded from the web, but none of my original documents. I'm still not sure how I managed that.

Just as an update...Fortunately, I was able to find all my favorite fonts from several locations around the Internet (and thanks, RudeDawg, for the tip! I've got that site as a new bookmark now). Having to restore a computer is hell on wheels, let me tell you!
Keryvian, my sympathy is with you, too! I at least did back up "My Documents" and any other folder I could think of...I just forgot about my Fonts directory! Well, things are back to normal, relatively so. Now I need to redo my Windows color scheme, for the flat gray windows interface is really starting to depress me. Well, another project looms! Well my deepest sympahty...nothing sucks more than loosing something you have been collecting. I lost my MP3 collection last December because I forgot my backpack on the bus, 4 cd's full of Mp3's and my 3dstudio Max book . I had collected them from school cause they had faster access and then I burned them the last day of school and handed in the harddrive.
Anyway here is a link, that might help. http://www.3dcafe.com/asp/fonts.asp May I recommend 1001freefontssite. they got some great fonts there. Hope that helps ------------------ Keldorn's Younger brother |

Hey Sazerac, I just sent you a bunch of them in .zip, but I saw your address was yahoo and it might bounce them because of size. If you don't get them, email me or post here and I can send them again.
