I never go by brand names.

About the only time I'm disappointed with a game is if I anticipated it to last longer than it did, or expect more replayability. I've got quite a few Xbox games that I have lined up to trade at EB simply because they're only good the first time through (New Legends, Dead or Alive 3, and Amped)

Thanks CB for the warning. It really is appreciated and, IMO. you'll do the gaming community a big favor if you follow through on warning as many forums as possible.

As much as I enjoyed the graphics, gameplay, and sheer brillance of Bethesda's Morrowind, I must say I became frustrated over the fact that even with the various patches the game was still quirky. I more than matched their computer recommendations and yet the amount of tweaks needed to run smoothly was ridiculous. I promised myself then that I would not buy another Bethesda game. Looks like I'll keep that promise.
What he said, C&C Renegade is a prime example of this. Always get a second opinion before buying a game (preferably more then one) and see what a magazine has to say about it.

RE the topic headline, I feel the same for the Matrix game. It has potential but that awkward camera and control just made me throw it away. When people make games, they should have consideration for those who will play it. In other words, make the games for the others, not for yourself just because you can play it.

You expected a game called "Pirates of the Caribbean" to be good?

Can you even name some ? (I have none in mind atm).

Matrix anyone ? Yuck...
Spiderman was pretty good.

There have been a few decent Star Wars games like "Rouge Squadron" (only flight game I ever enjoyed) that were good.

Your correct they are few and far between.

Just slap Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom on the cover, and I'm sure it will sell
