Sick of Anime

I dunno, I reckon we all have our own personal opinions on this subject. Just sick of it myself. All of it looks basically the same to me, elfish cartoon with some big sword, some elfish determined face, lots of colors added, or some such exaggeration, etc. Just don't understand how it got so popular? Kinda like Pokemon, never understood that either. What is it that people like about it? Graphics animation wise it is pretty cheap looking to me. What do yall think?

Pokemon sucked.Anime is okay.Just depends on what i'm watching basicly.

Gotta admit, LadyZ, I never cared much for it either.

Seems rather amateurish as graphics/drawings go and what I've seen has had more "pokemon" feel to it than serious comic/cartoon/story etc.

But to each his own, I guess!

I'll have to agree that a lot of it really, really blows. Like for example DragonBall Z. But the basic style isn't too bad, it worked well in the game FF7 for example, in which case the guy with the huge sword was cool. It wasn't really anime, though, just had a lot of anime-ish touches on the characters....

Now let's look at the reasons why I cannot stand DBZ:

Half of it is just main characters standing around groaning like they're constipated. They waste several episodes doing this, then they exchange seven punches and the battle is over.

The characters are all totally awful.

Besides for two or so of the main characters the rest are just there to either make inane comments or die and be ressurrected later on.

If you want to see a good version of anime, though, play the game FF7. Anime-ish graphics, non-anime-ish coolness.....

I hate pokemon too. especially that stupid super expensive and extra super large pikachu doll that i bought for my err...friend.

anime is okay to me, as long as it is not those where some people get suck up into another dimension or those anime where the hero is one male and surrounded by half a dozen or so females! sheshh!!

Ii isn't appealing enough to me to expose myself to it long enough to form an opinion as to whether I like it or not...a 'not my style' kind of thing I guess.

"Tenchi in Tokyo" sucks, I agree with you there Kakero. Another one that I think is corny is "Hamtaro" I have seen it only once, but it seems weird somehow...
"Dragonball Z" and "Dragonball" both stink, but there are some exiting parts. "Pokemon" is probably the lamest show on earth. "Let's go, Pikachu" doesn't sound very good....and Ash (r) says it every time he unleashes "Pikachu" (r), the yellow rat that makes annoying "Picker" sounds and shoots out what looks like yellow pee. One anime show I do like is "Zoids". It is pretty cool. On anime shows, I don't like that "round mouth" feature. That is weird, real people don't talk like that!

the only tv anime i've ever watched was star blazers and monster rancher.

guess i'm just too much of a kid at heart to want to grow up.now there are some films that are good.akira,ghost in the shell,and ninja scroll.

DBZ isn't that bad

Animes are just cartoons made in Japan..so if you like cartoons you'll like Anime [img]smile.gif[/img]
