What an unbelievable story. Roy Keane was sent home from the World Cup yesterday after giving Ireland coach Mick McCarthy an eight-minute verbal spray about a whole series of things - poor training facilities, poor organization, uncommitted teammates, etc. Apparently he just snapped and did it in front of the team and everyone. Obviously McCarthy had no choice after Keane's public brain explosion and sent him packing.
I understand and appreciate that some of his concerns were quite valid, but was that the way to resolve the issues? I think he's let his team and his country down, which is disgraceful. But the Irish always have a lot of craic - they'll bounce back. |

I have had days like that recently
Bummer that it will probably cost his team mates. |

Roy Keane was the only world class player that Ireland had but if he was going to disrupt the team it may be better for them that he's gone. Something has definitely been upsetting the boy over the past few months. I wonder what on earth it could be? I hope he wasn't upset that his team won nothing!

I think that because he's the go-to guy for United, he's turned into a bit of a primadonna and egohead, had a power struggle with the coach, lost it and gave the coach a serve, and got the arse. The day that players think they are bigger than the team is the day they don't belong in the team. |
