Are there any subquests? SPOILER

I played Baldur's Gate, and loved the gameplay and story style, and when i saw Icewind Dale i bought it immediately. I like the way the game functions, however, it is significantly shorter than BG. Are there any subquests to go on besides the arbatoreum?

speaking of which, how many things can you take to the arbatoreum? I took seeds, squirrels, birds, and water.

You got all four of the items that you need for the arboretum subquest.

Besides that, yes, there are a few smallish subquests scattered about; some of them are at the beginning in Easthaven and a couple involve folks in Kuldahar (Orrick and Conlan)just to mention a few. But with the exception of the arboretum which requires serious backtracking to complete it, most of the subquests actually fall in line with the normal flow of the game. I won't list all of them but the best advice i can give you is to talk to everyone.
